#4) Playa Diego Hernandez

Playa Diego Hernandez (also called hippies beach) is absolutely one of the most beautiful beaches in the south of Tenerife.
We recommend you to visit this beach both for its tranquility and beauty as well as for its atmosphere. His nickname is not random and it will be easy to find juggling that trains at sunset.
This beach offers you crystal clear waters with turquoise tones, golden sand and an incredible landscape overlooking the neighboring island of La Gomera.
It is divided by two different bays that vary quite a bit depending on the tide (you can check the tides of Diego Hernandez here), anyway you will find without problems enough space to enjoy this beautiful place.
To get there you will have to do a small trekking of about 10 minutes and there is no infrastructure nearby, so we recommend you to bring food and drink.
If you want to spend a day in nature and unspoilt beaches, this is the place for you.
Location: La Caleta (Costa Adeje)
Composition: Natural white sand
Services: Nothing but nature (sometimes there is someone who sells soft drinks and beer
Access: From Costa Adeje it is an hour walking to reach the town of La Caleta, and from there you can follow the trails that climb the mountain to the right of La Caleta Beach (about 20 minutes on the way), or you can reach the village by bus (La Caleta de Adeje stop) and follow the same route.
If you go by car you can follow the road until the Golf Costa Adeje, park in the street and go down walking on the trails you find to the left of the golf course (10 minutes).

#5) Playa de Abama

Playa de Abama is a little gem that you can’t miss in the south of Tenerife.
It is in a hidden bay outside the Hotel Abama, but everyone can enjoy it.
The gold color of the fine sand is mixed with the incredible blue of the sea, always very quiet because of the stone wall that acts as a breakwater and creates a natural pool in which you have to bathe!
For its clean and crystal clear water it is the perfect place to swim and see the marine world snorkeling.
On the beach you can find sun loungers for rent and a bar that is part of the Ritz-Carlton Abama (so the prices are much higher than the average of Tenerife). The supervision of the hotel staff makes it always a very quiet and controlled beach (so much so that it is forbidden to play with the ball).
Playa de Abama is THE beach for a relaxing day in a postcard cove!

Access: This is the only one of these beaches that requires transport by car or bus. From the hotel parking it is about a 10 minute walk. Go down to the sea direction and you will find a stone staircase that takes you directly to the beach.
You can easily reach the Hotel Abama by car following the TF-47, or by bus with line 473, stop Abama(T), it is 15 minutes walk
